My #6 Favorite Polish for WInter 2016 is...

Coca-Cola Red!

I have been coveting this polish for sometime and was finally able to get my hands on it! So many people (who love polish as much as I do) have mentioned how much they love it, so I decided I needed to add it to my collection. It does not disappoint! This polish was released as part of the Coca-Cola Collection  released in 2014. It's the perfect balance of warm and cool tones and I feel like it would look great on anyone. The formula is fantastic, opaque in two easy coats! I also added a layer of HK Girl top coat for some extra shine.

I know there are a million reds out there that are similar to this one so I didn't do any comparisons. Do I really think you need to go out and get this exact one? Not particulary- not unless you are a collector and what this specific polish in your collection. :)

I wanted to do a distressed design using this because I always seem to do something traditional with a classic red. I love that it's unique. What do you think about it?

My #5 Favorite Polish for Winter 2016 is...

Go With The Flowy!

This polish was released as part of the Essie Getting Groovy Winter collection for 2016! It's a gorgeous soft cool toned gray (it almost leans blue) with some subtle silver shimmer. I knew when I saw this polish online that I needed it and when I swatched it for the first time I knew it would be one of my winter favorites. Formula is great. Opaque in two easy coats.

 I don't really have any comparisons for this polish. Which is one of the reasons I love it so much. Here it is next to Now and Zen which was released as part of the Essie Fall 2016 collection. As you can see, it's much much lighter and slightly more cool toned.

I have switched to new lighting so this picture is quite different than the other. Sorry, it always take some time to work out kinks when getting new equipment. Anyway, my cute friend on Insta (@curlycomedynailart) said this design looked like Hot Cocoa and I have to agree! So, that's what I have named this simple design. Since I have done tutorials similar to this one, made the tutorial for this one slightly different. I show you the entire process of one hand to make it go as quick as possible. I hope you enjoy it!

My #7 Favorite Winter Polish for 2015...

Essie Virgin Snow!

 This polish is new this year from the Essie Winter Collection. I love this icy purple blue color. It's so flattering on! The first coat is a little streaky, but by the second it even out pretty well. I think you have to expect that with these lighter colors. You may need to do three coats depending on how heavy handed you are. The swatch below is two generous coats. 

 I thought this would be the same as Bikini So Teeny at first, but was pleasantly surprised that it was lighter and leaned more purple. So of coarse I snagged it! Here is also a comparison to Essie Mint Candy Apple just so you can see the color tone difference.

I thought this icy look would be perfect for January. I love that way it turned out and learned a few things along the way as I tried this out. So definitely make sure you watch the full tutorial for helpful tips :).

My #5 favorite winter polish for 2015...

Zoya Hunter!

Zoya Hunter was part of the Fall 2013 Cashmere collection. It is a slightly dusky, dark forest green. It is a perfect green for the holidays or the fall and winter. The first coat of this polish is a little patchy, but by the second coat it has full coverage. The swatch below is two coats. I love me a good creme green!

This really is the only true forest green polish I have. Here is a comparison to other greens in my collection. Obviously they are not even close to each other, but it gives you a good idea of the color tone when they are photographed next to each other. Looks like I need to pick a few more greens to try since it is my favorite color ;).

I decided to do a gradient with this polish. I think this gradient can be perfect for the holidays if you want something more classic and subtle. At the same time it can be a winter manicure that won't scream "holiday".

I just have the color on the tip and black at the base for this one, and in the other video I have black tips and the color on the base. Does that make any sense? My #4 Favorite Winter Polish for 2015...

OPI- All I Want For Christmas (is OPI)!!

 This red polish is from the 2013 Mariah Carey Holiday collection. I have several from that collection that I love. All I Want For Christmas has been a favorite holiday red of mine since the day I bought it. It is a blue toned red and works well with my skin tone. The formula is nice and it applies evenly. The swatch below is two coats. 

 There are many dupes for red polishes. I only have a few reds in my collection to compare (I might need to branch out and get a few more :)). Compared to Essie Fishnet Stockings it is almost the exact same red, but if I had to pick it would be All I Want For Christmas because I LOVE OPI's brush so much! She's Pampered is a brighter red. 

 I have been dying to use this red for a plaid nail design, so I did! Nothing better than a Christmas Plaid right?!

My #3 Favorite Winter Polish for 2015...

Essie Stylenomics!

You should know by now that green is my favorite color, and Styelnomics has to be one of my favorite greens for sure. It was released in 2012 in Essie's Fall Collection, but you can find it on Amazon. I have also seen it in local stores on occasion. Stylenomics is quite unique to my collection. It's a stunner! A deep forest green with a hint of blue, making it slightly teal, which is the main reason I love it so much. Sometimes I feel like a true forest green screams "holiday" (which is okay), but having it slightly more blue makes it different and appropriate for any occasion, including the holidays. Stylenomics has such a great formula and can be opaque in one thick coat.

The swatch above is two coats. 

Compared to Zoya Hunter which really is a true forest green you can really see just how blue Stylenomics leans. Another green in my stash is China Glaze Near Dark which is much more yellow toned. 

Since Christmas is approaching I wanted to create a holiday look, so I added a sparkly gold French tip. Wow! It's so classy and gorgeous and I don't want to take it off! But, I have many other holiday looks I need to do! :)
